Niki Denison

Coeditor

In conjunction with coeditor Dean Robbins, Niki Denison assigns stories, edits copy, and writes for On Wisconsin. She became assistant editor of On Wisconsin in 1989 and coeditor in 2000. Although not a Wisconsin native, she moved to Madison in 1981 and quickly adapted to the most Midwestern of all Midwest states. She thoroughly enjoys covering UW–Madison and its ability to combine towering academic achievements with a unique sense of fun. Favorite alumni profiles have included an award-winning piece on the founder of the Endometriosis Association as well as a feature on the late chef Charlie Trotter. The endless variety of alumni, faculty, students, research initiatives, and campus issues keeps her job fascinating — and the heart that the university puts into its mission keeps it fulfilling.
