Four Chairs, No Waiting

 

A frigid dinette set — built by art student Hongtao Zhou MFAx’10 — offered less than comfortable seating on the ice near Memorial Union. But the pieces weren’t meant for comfort. They were sculpture. Called “Ice & Snow Furniture Raised from Lake Mendota,” the work was created in late January and then removed by nature as temperatures rose.
