Neigh-Sayer?

Despite her daughter Katie’s apparent objections, Xin Chang (left) strokes the nose of a new friend: Mike, a Belgian draft horse. Xin and Katie joined a crowd of 125 international students and family members to spend a day on a Wisconsin farm in June — specifically, the farm of Martha and Steve Querin-Schultz, who live near Cottage Grove. During the event, students could drive a tractor, take a hay ride, hear a bluegrass concert, and more. Martha is an office manager with the university’s International Student Services, which aids the more than 4,000 international students currently at the UW.
